Kanpur: The Department of Physics at IIT Kanpur, in collaboration with the Magnetic Society of India (MSI), successfully hosted the ‘School on Magnetism and Spintronics 2024’, a three-day international workshop. The event attracted over 100 students and researchers from across India, offering a platform to explore advanced topics in magnetism and spintronics. The workshop featured 30 global experts, delivering 13 tutorials and 17 talks on foundational concepts and recent advancements in the field.
The event included interactive sessions, research discussions, and a poster session where participants showcased their work. The inaugural ceremony was marked by distinguished leaders, including Prof. Kumar Vaibhav Srivastava and Prof. Tapobrata Sarkar. Additionally, a cultural performance by Amrita K Bhushan added a vibrant dimension to the event. Prof. Rohit Medwal emphasized the workshop’s role in bridging academia and research, inspiring future scientific breakthroughs and contributing to global advancements. IIT Kanpur’s initiative continues to empower young researchers in the scientific community.
